One Never Knows

When is the last time you took a leisurely walk?

Taking a walk with my four-year-old is an adventure. He just notices everything. The dead moth on the ground, the cracks in the sidewalk which he inevitably jumps over, the flock of birds flying in unison. These are things I might walk right past and never notice because I’m so focused on where I’m going. As I noticed his wonder and sheer delight in all the little details it made me wonder what I’m missing on a daily basis. What am I walking right past because I’m so focused on the destination?

The beauty of God’s creation?

The opportunity for deeper relationships?

The opportunity to encourage someone who is down?

The opportunity to give to someone in need?

The good news is that it’s not too late.

Let’s both take time today to marvel at what’s around us. One never knows what one might see. 🙂

  1. Yes, there are so many times I let things pass by without a single thought. Thank you for reminding me to be more observant and allow God to bless my heart.
