First thing’s first. Well, actually, last name’s first. It’s pronounced boo-lay. 🙂
Ok, now that that’s done…
I grew up in a small town in NW Ohio (O-H!), the youngest of four. My family has always been a rock to me, but in my desperate teenage years when no one took me seriously, I cried out to God, “If you’re real, take me out of this place.” A week later I found myself at church. Before I knew it I was starring as Judas in our church’s Easter play, ecstatic because… you know, Judas gets to kiss Jesus… and I happened to have a crush on the guy playing Jesus. I had no clue that it was Judas who betrayed Jesus with that kiss, selling him to the Romans who would torture and crucify Him. But I stood there that day shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” And suddenly it was all too real. Jesus died for me. For you.
And that’s really where my story begins. A story of grace, loss, grief, hope, redemption, love, joy, peace.
As you get to know me through this blog, all of those stories will come together and hopefully you’ll get a picture of the height, and width, and depth of God’s extravagant love through Jesus Christ.
Today, I’m married to my best friend. He serves as the Associate Pastor of our church. We have three wild and crazy boys and two cats who puts up with all their shenanigans. I still live in a small town, only not in Ohio. I love slow paced living, Fall, and lifelong learning.
